| MICOM SOURCE CODES AND OTHER RESOURCES |
MICOM source codes are accessible by anonymous ftp to micom.rsmas.miami.edu/bleck. Aside from the "canonical" MICOM basin version 2.7, this site contains earlier idealized-basin codes, a data-parallel (CM Fortran) global version, an open-boundary Gulf of Mexico model, a channel version, and a processing package. Postscript or LaTex files on the topics of diapycnal mixing, mixed layer physics, the equation of state, and thermobaricity are also available.
For assistance in navigating the anonymous ftp directory, contact linda.smith@rsmas.miami.edu or rbleck@rsmas.miami.edu.
A distribution of MICOM version 2.7 from the Netherlands Center for Climate Research (CKO) is available at URL http://www.knmi.nl/onderzk/CKO/micom.html. The distribution package includes source code for implementation on standard, parallel, and SMP machines, and a configuration database permitting limited boundary condition and forcing choices within a standard Atlantic basin model run. A link is provided to the CKO MICOM version, which allows the user to customize the model domain, initialization, forcing, boundary conditions, mixing parameters, etc. Input and output for the CKO version are in NetCDF format.
Information concerning MICOM versions developed for MPPs and SMP clusters can be found at URL http://www.borg.umn.edu/~okeefe/.
A User's Manual and Theory Guide for MICOM version 2.6 can be
